Read your post and since its Sunday morning, I'll try and avoid typing a long one as well. :P I joined LUGS while "the mess" was still on-going. Life was never easy for the ExCO as we had to deal with a number of issues with the most important being the clearing of the debts that LUGS had incurred from some failed event. Clearing the debts was placed on priority. Based on the last information that I have seen, LUGS should now be debt-free but I will leave the official word to come from the Treasurer. Add to that, the messy state of affairs with the Registry of Societies as AGMS and Annual Returns were not filed for years etc. etc. In any case, these are all water under the bridge now. LUGS NEEDS A NEW EXCO and the problem that I see, which was evident from the first day that I joined LUGS was the fact that individuals are more active on the mailing lists than they are in person. As such, all the "traffic", comments and ideas on the mailing lists are never transcribed into physical actions. I really wish I had a solution to this but I don't. So right now, for all the comments (justified or otherwise) made about LUGS, we just want to see the names being put out on the list. I'll continue to keep track of it and I *WILL* request and arrange a meeting and call for an AGM which will officially elect the new LUGS EXCO. Thereafter the new EXCO can ring in the changes as required and we can bring in SLMG/FOSA as you and Michael has suggested. We need individuals to put down their names whom are willing to serve. Its simple but we don't see enough names. That's the problem! 01. Yong Han (Web) 02. Billy 03. Tom Goh 04.
