Spyros,

If your Access point connected to same switch or wired, you can set the different channels in the access point.  Yes, roaming option will work with different channel selection and it is based on the ESSID. When selecting the channels, please remember to use non-overlapping channels like 1, 6 or 11 and this will intelligently avoiding interference, maximizes throughput.

Regards, Seeni.

Subject: [smartBridges] Channels in a building

I want to ask a question about the channels.

I'm deploying 4 access points within a building (1 per floor).

My question is: Do I use the same channel to enable roaming or do I set them up with different channels each? Are there performance issues if I use the same channel? All of the access points connect to the same switch of course.

Thanks,

Spyros
