Title: RE: Re[2]: [smartBridges] Anyone having issues with the new firmware?
After reading many of the post's, I too feel the frustration that many appear to be feeling.  But I will say this, we were using another manufacturer's product initially and were having terrible problems.  My installers started calling the product "Crap-lidyne".  I spoke with Ecomm and Rob recommended we try the sB product line.  We've installed approximately 75 of the units and I must say, they've worked flawlessly.  They have for all practical purposes solved our CPE problem.  We have units running from 2000' to 10 miles connecting to A/P's of not only sB manufacture but even the old A/P's that we haven't either been able to afford to change out or have so far (keeping our fingers crossed) have been working well.

I even had to pop a couple of aPPO units into a Teletronics 5.8 upconverter situation and running PxP path of 7+ miles with high RF interference, they have worked flawlessly and to some extent saved that section of my network.  I even have had several of my customers who were constantly complaining of degraded service now tell me that the service is excellent.

I also have identified four (4) units that we recently purchased from Ecomm that seem to have the problem we've all been discussing.  Some of us here on the list have had poor results with the f/w upgrade.  We have had similar results on two of the units and will be attempting the fix on two units again today.

I just want to say that, given the price point, given the many calls I've received from Singapore at all hours of their (shows posession, Sam!) evenings and night, I still believe this is an extremely good product, especially at the price point.  In fact, I'd go so far as to say that it's the best we've found that enables us to go forward with our business plan.

I have complete confidence that smartBridges will fix this issue.  I also want to say that I appreciate the way Ecomm has handled this issue too.  I have received a couple of units on RMA's and they work well within accepted industry standards.  They too, as well as smartBridge, are very professional during a time they could tell us things other than the truth.

I really don't mean this to be a diatribe on how wonderful sB is but I do believe they will make it right for us and they do respect our opinions.

Have a great Sunday!
