The idea is that this software could be harmful in the hands of the wrong people. They just want to make it at least a little harder for Joe Hacker to get his hands on it. I work for E-Comm and had to register for it.

Maybe I'm spoiled but I'm used to instant access to companion software provided by software vendors. It's not a huge issue, I'm sure they'll get me fixed up soon enough, just curious.
