SimpleDeploy allows you to actually change the factory defaults. You can take a default setup for your WISP and dump it into the units so that you can have the customer reset the device to "factory" defaults and not have to step them through all of the pages resetting WEP keys, IP, Gateway, etc. You could even setup a default configuration for that customer so that if they get to playing and blow it up with SimpleMonitor, all they have to do is reset it back to the "factory" default.
I haven't played with SimpleNMS much, but it is pretty cool as well, allowing you to see your entire network, upgrade F/W in specific units, and much more that I have not had time to play with, yet. It does look to be very helpful, though. I'm sure some of the other guys can help you with more of the specifics.

I can certainly understand this. But is there anyhing in these two applications that would be more dangerous in the hands of an unscrupulous user than what could be done with simpleMonitor? This is included on the CDs that shipped with my products, but neither simpleNMS or SimpleDeploy seem to be.Again, it's not a big deal and I'm sure I'll receive my confirmation soon. They just want to make it at least a little harder for Joe Hacker to get his hands on it. I work for E-Comm and had to register for it. Not only is their website extremely slow (for usin the US anyway), but apparently you must re-register for each download and each registration must be approved by a human. Maybe I'm spoiled but I'm used to instant access tocompanion softwareprovided by software vendors. It's not a huge issue, I'msure they'llget me fixed up soon enough, just curious.
