Dumb question how far is the tree from the building? Cause really if it isnt that far string the cable to a steel guide wire to the tree with the cat5 attached and bolt the bitch to the tree. As for loss of signal 24db for 2 miles isnt that a little overkill whats the ap that its pointing to's setup this situation doesn't make sense are you sure it's not the channel interference have you tried a different channel also just my view using 2.4 for business especially high paying ones is a bad idea but is doable. I had done this with a 9db antenna once with a 250mw amp and a sb.

A SB APPO in the repeater mode with one antenna towards the water tower and one towards customer.Half the thruput but even at 2.5 MB/Sec thruput.....the only trick is to find a spot that sees both the water tower and the client. I had to do this on one of my setups and it works.

I know you are probably right, it is just hard to give up on a customer that

wants so badly to help promote our business. But he may just have to wait

until such time as we can afford to deploy NLOS equipment. I just don't see

anyway to get around that huge tree and it is too tall to go over.

Thanks,

Gloria
