Smartbridges may not be an effective solution if you are talking about a traditional mesh network, but if you insist, you are looking at what is commonly referred to as two units "back-to-back" meaning what Alex is saying. However, you need a hub/router/switch to accomplish this and provide subscriber #1 with access.
To eliminate the hub requirement, you can place two units at each site, one in client bridge mode connected directly to the user's computer, one in repeater mode with just power connected.
