I'm not sure Sully. I was unable to get into it to see the MAC. It's one
of the RMAs I got from EC about three weeks ago. I followed the
instructions I was given and upgraded the unit, waterproofed it, etc. It
ran fine for two weeks with no users on it. I added one user and it worked
still. So I added another one the day before yesterday. it worked about 36
hours and then crapped out.

Teletronics makes an outdoor unit that I'm going to replace this APPO with
to see how it works. The Teletronics CPE units I have been using are
working great. One of my customers doesn't have clear line of sight
(though he's only about 300 yards from the AP). I went through four ABI
trying to get him reliable signal. I finally climbed up and put a
Teletronics radio on for him and he's happy as a pig in the mud now, and
can pass 2 MB consistently.

The Teletronics APs put out 100 mw or 200 mw, depending on which you order
(as opposed to the 60 mw I'm told SB stuff puts out.) They also cost about
$446.00, but when I have to pay $330.00 for an APPO, then $300 a pop to
have it replaced (three times on one of my access points) you can see
where it would be cheaper to buy the Teletronics to begin with (assuming
they will work as well as the CPEs have worked for me.) I could have put
up four Teletronics access points for the cost of one APPO access
point given the labor charges I've had to pay to replace faulty APPOs.

I hope the Teletronics will work as well as APPOs *used* to.

I'm fixing to find out.
