I've been told NOT to use amps on the client side because it will cause an RF nightmare.
I'd suggest lowering the clients RTS settings and I've even found that dropping the client's rate to 1 or 2 Mbs has helped for customers with low signal. This all depends on the problem. If they just want a better signal, they probably won't get it unless you do a point to point link. If they keep dropping off or disconnecting, then the above suggestions may work. You're probably just pushing the limits of your range. _____ Jeremy _____ -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Cesar Sent: Tuesday, September 09, 2003 11:07 AM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: [smartBridges] How do I improve a link? Hi everyone, I need your help/advice on improving a customer's connection. He is 10.5 miles away from my APPO (14.5 Sector antenna) and there is a clear LOS. He is using an Outdoor airBridge and a 24dBi grid antenna. At this point in time there are no amps involved, but I am seriously considering to install one at the clients site. Do you think that an Amp would solve the problem? Or do you have something in your bag of tricks that I can use? Any and all help will be greatly appreciated.
