Well, Maybe I'm wrong but,

...... your mid point freznel zone is around 56 feet.

So, you need 28 feet above all obstacle beetween your tower & your CPE.

A farm should be more than 25 feet. I would try it on the top roof of
the farm.

Or just try a 19Dp Panel & Radio with a Laptop to see what you get on
the top of the roof.

Pascal,

The height of the antenna at the customer's site is about 24 feet, and
my sector antenna is on top of a hill that is about 400 above the
valley. That should be good enough, correct?

Thanks

What is the height from the ground of that 24db antenna ??

You need LOS + freznel zone clearance.

I have found, the higher you go at custumer's site, the better it is !

Thanks Jeremy,

I have been told the same and that is the reason we've stayed away from
amps. I already dropped the RTS to 256 and that helped, but not enough.
I will try dropping the rate to 1 Mbs to see if it helps.

Thanks,

I've been told NOT to use amps on the client side because it will cause
an RF nightmare.

I'd suggest lowering the clients RTS settings and I've even found that
dropping the client's rate to 1 or 2 Mbs has helped for customers with
low signal.

This all depends on the problem. If they just want a better signal,
they probably won't get it unless you do a point to point link. If they
keep dropping off or disconnecting, then the above suggestions may work.

You're probably just pushing the limits of your range.

Hi everyone,

I need your help/advice on improving a customer's connection. He is
10.5 miles away from my APPO (14.5 Sector antenna) and there is a clear
LOS. He is using an Outdoor airBridge and a 24dBi grid antenna. At
this point in time there are no amps involved, but I am seriously
considering to install one at the clients site.

Do you think that an Amp would solve the problem? Or do you have
something in your bag of tricks that I can use?

Any and all help will be greatly appreciated.

TIA,

-Csar
