The clients asks for a new IP address when half of the lease time has expired, then again when 1/4 is left if it didn't get it the first time.

Back to answering Sam's question, since this thread seems to have diverged... When DHCP hands out an IP, it also hands out a lease time. After that lease time expires, the client is supposed to ask for an IP again. You didn't mention how often these DHCP requests are re-ocurring, so I can't say for sure whether this is what is happening. But if your lease time is set low, it would be normal for the client to ask for an IP fairly often. As for who is responsible for holding the IP, it is the client PC. It holds the IP address, and it asks for a new one when the lease is up. The Airbridge doesn't have anything to do with any of this. The question I have is, why does the customer care how often it's requesting an IP? I don't think it would cause a problem, aside from a little extra traffic from the dhcp requests.
