Only time I have seen this is when I got an EMP pulse from lightning 
hitting near by (I assume it was EMP so no args there AND this was before 
I learned the wonderful world of using shielded CAT5 and grounding the 
shield.. etc..)  Made a short story long....

It only fried the ethernet port...  RF port and power worked.
