Hi: The way that the Wavecom modem handle the AT commands is almost identical in in both the old and the new ones. I noticed that a few AT commands were hanging the modem and you need to do a hard reset to set the modem back to accept AT commands. To avoid that, I used the official Wavecom specification sheet to build a new handler to support this functionality, and It is working and will be part in the future release of SMSLib as far as I know because a previous discussion I had with T.Delenikas. When?, I don't know.
Please note that this limitation, according to the official Wavecom spec, only appears when you use one of the new models via an USB connection. Using the d-sub 15 pin connection should not end with those issues, therefore my handler is not required and you can safety use the generic one for Wavecom. I was able to use my old motorola L6 with SMSLib in the meantime that I was trying to get my FXT009 handler to work, and It works fantastic, but the problem is that this modem was laying in a box for at least 3 years, so I don't think you can be able of buying a new one. As I said, I had a really good experience with Wavecom, the specs are easy to find, the AT command support list is quite standard and It works, at least for me, perfect. IMHO this is the way to go.
