It's all a question of perspective. I've ordered an iPad and I expect to use both Pages and Keynote with it. You can't get a quart out of a pint pot and I plan to work within the constraints of the iPad versions knowing that they'll be acceptable on the Mac versions. I can cope with fewer templates, limited transitions, etc., and from what I have seen from users of iWorks for iPad, most real people, like Len Posen who writes extensively about PowerPoint and Keynote, aren't expecting every feature to be available. We had all these comments before from people expecting 'cloud' versions of Office alternatives but there are many thousands of Google Docs users who seem satisfied with reduced features and functionality. Your mileage may vary, of course! And the usual caveat applies; try before you buy and if you don't like it don't buy it. And if you can't try it definitely don't buy it.
