I remember in high school we had a weight vest to train with while playing ball...I think it was 40 lbs.  It wasn't that bad, but I'm sure climbing that many stairs it would be.

That is tough.... 40 lbs. is a lot... I have carried a 20 lb turkey a mile and that was
a bitch. *IF* the "large pebble" was bad enough... I would undoubtadly still choose
the pack... My feet are something that I take very seriously... I sometimes change
my socks three times a day...
