As you are heading for kernel inclusion sooner than later, I suggest to prepare patches for the mainline kernel directly as suggested in: http://svn.berlios.de/wsvn/socketcan/trunk/README.submitting-patches It saves your and our bandwidth. It's perfectly fine to first send early "RFC" patches just to the Socketcan-core mailing list to get some feedback. I'm going to review your driver a.s.a.p.
