That is correct. The patch added proper handling of RX1 when there is a
rollover from RX0 to RX1.

I connected a board to a lawicel CAN dongle and receiving on the board
(sending from dongle) is fine but sending (with cangen) from the board to
the dongle produces repeated frames.

I am currently using the inline driver.
