In the geometry approximation tab, check "Fine"and lower the length to get
more detail. You might also have to raise the maximum subdivision limit
higher, for ultra fine details.

Subject: Rendering displacement from ZBrush 4rX

Hey guys, anyone has experience with rendering displacement from ZBrush?

At this moment what is obvious, I have to turn Smooth UV when subdivide (or
whatever) OFF. The map rendered is 16 bit (might be an issue), but no matter
how hard I try, the rendered mesh looks like a balloon, if the displacement
amount seesm correct, the detail level is nowhere to the object in ZB.
Render engine used is Mental Ray…So, if anyone has experience, please share
with me J

Formerly I did successful renders, but it was years ago, and that knowledge
vanished in the twilight of renderless years…:D

Cheers
