------- Additional Comments From [EMAIL PROTECTED] 2004-07-20 07:46 ------- Subject: Re: add SpamCop reporting Just to throw in a comment or two. I've had my handlespam script (http://www.kluge.net/~felicity/random/handlespam.txt) doing spamcop reporting for a while now. A few thoughts: 1) Have a size limit for reporting. Some folks don't like to report large messages since it sucks up bandwidth, "fuel", etc. I found 70k to be a good default max. 2) SC doesn't care for messages w/out a body. aka: those blank spams that come in. They just get ignored. So either SC should stop ignoring them, or we shouldn't bother sending them. 3) SC doesn't care for old messages. The default the last I checked is 3 days. In handlespam, I run the appropriate bits through Mail::SpamAssassin::Util::parse_rfc822_date() and skip the report if the message is already too old. 4) If we're adding in some form of "report via email" method, we could add in reports to [EMAIL PROTECTED] and [EMAIL PROTECTED] as well, depending on whether certain rules were hit. (iirc, we remove sa markup before getting to report, so I don't know if this is viable or not w/out dealing with that first. just putting it out there.) ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
