Some comments on the logos from a designer's point of view... The three finalists are definitely the best of the initial submissions. Each includes the concepts of email and filtering/protection. All scale pretty well, and all need to be cropped in the badge size.

1.0.1. (Michael Douma): A clean design, which is very corporate-friendly, customer-friendly and positive. Includes obvious references to email, apache, and filtering; and subtle references to ninja shurikens, and to a lesser extent gemstones, a running/standing man, and swift motion. The gutters in the negative space also suggest flow or filtering. It has a specifically light feel -- perhaps too light. Logo can stand alone without text.

1.0.2. (Christian Rauh): Another clean design, with a more grass-roots or cartoon feel. Non-corporate. Includes obvious references to email, selection/protection, and apache. Evocative of Robin Hood arrows, with a take-from-the-rich-give-to-the-poor feel. This is the hardest to fit on a small badge or in other collateral because the logo is not a simple symbol.

1.0.3. (Walter Kobylanski): A sharp and cunning design, with a gothic feel. May appeal more to techies than corporates. Obvious reference to an axe, shuriken, and a witty "@" sign that the eye sees a few moments later. The connotation includes precision, chopping (axe), death, Gotham (batman), and chopping and death (axe), and dark powers (shuriken, and Maltese Cross). Logo can stand alone without text, and could adapt to MixedCase.
