NFPA 101[2006]8.7.1.1: Protection from any area? having a degree of hazard greater? than that normal to the general occupancy of the building or structure? shall be provided? by one of the following means:(1) Enclosing the area? with a fire barrier? without windows that has? a 1 hour fire resistance? rating in accordance? with section 8.3. (2) protecting the area with automatic extinguishing systems in accordance? with section 9.7.? The fancoil area is a return air plenum that need to comply with NFPA 90A;the wires , the equipment must fire rated for plenum. NFPA? 70 would require certain distances ,clearances for maintenace of the fan coil.?The fancoil has a motor, relays , transformers, capacitors, electric heater;sometimes the fan blades are made of plastic. Many things can go wrong. mario berrios [EMAIL PROTECTED] -----Original Message----- From: Todd Williams - work <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: [email protected] Sent: Sun, 29 Jul 2007 5:46 pm Subject: Re: Fan Coil Enclosure in dwelling unit OK, but is an enclosure only accessible via an access panel (I would assume something like 2' x 2') considered a closet?
