Roland, for your discussion at the RoP meeting, I just surveyed an existing
system that had some recent repairs and found a couple of new bushings in new
tees. On checking closely, the orignal fittings had been 3-1/2 x 3 x 3-1/2.
The new fittings were 4 x 3 x 4 with a pair of 4 x 3-1/2 bushings. There was
no room to do reducers and I would bet finding the 3-1/2 tees, and probably the
4 x 3-1/2 reducers, would be pretty hard.

The use of bushing has been expanded in 13 to allow for future system
modifications. It's somewhat limited by being placed under 8.15.19.2
(Piping to Sprinklers Below Ceilings) since many facilities are not
using ceilings. This issue was originally pushed by Caputo (I think)
and should be further addressed at the upcoming ROP meeting. How's
that for a nudge?

Did any Forumites send in any proposals?
