Russell, its all political. They took a standard bathroom 5' x 8' tacked on a 
few feet extra and said if you exceed 55 s.f. than it must be sprinklered.

Concerning the omission of sprinklers in bathrooms in motels and hotels per 
NFPA13 "Dwellings" section. What is the reasoning for the omission of 
sprinklers in bathrooms 55 s.f. and less but not in bathrooms larger than this? 
Especially when combustible concealed spaces are such a big deal even with no 
access and nothing in them. Gotta be something I'm not considering. Russell
