Just an observation, but on hotels and motels I have worked on I have
noticed that bathrooms that exceed 55 sq. ft. are generally handicap
accessible. May just be a coincidence.

Russell, its all political. They took a standard bathroom 5' x 8' tacked on
a few feet extra and said if you exceed 55 s.f. than it must be sprinklered.

Subject: Sprinkler Omission

Concerning the omission of sprinklers in bathrooms in motels and hotels per
NFPA13 "Dwellings" section. What is the reasoning for the omission of
sprinklers in bathrooms 55 s.f. and less but not in bathrooms larger than
this? Especially when combustible concealed spaces are such a big deal even
with no access and nothing in them. Gotta be something I'm not considering.
