I am not totally clear on the room size or shape. But make sure you consult the manufacture literature for installation guide. Reliable for example says perimeter obstructions less than 30" in width, a sprinkler can be the width of drop less 8" plus the depth from sprinkler deflector to bottom of drop away and be considered covered. I believe you say your soffit is 11" deep and 12" wide, so (12 -8) plus 11, if the sprinkler is 15" away your coverage is adequate.
