Good afternoon all: Got a question regarding pipe stands, NFPA 13 2007 Section 9.2.6 is a new requirement for sizing stands relating to riser headers. We have an AHJ in our area that would like to see proof that the stands are sufficient. If I go back to my Statics and Strength of Materials books and look at Column Analysis no problem, however what about Joe Contractor that has never been exposed to this analysis? For those on this forum that are on 13's Hanging Committee - is this really the intent of 9.2.6?
