Dave makes a good point- it is generally NOT the intent of 13 to have us calc'g pipe schedule- they'd be evaluated as pipe schedule.
If the larger water supply is not available for today's pipe schedule system, I would- as you likely are- calc what's there as an alternative. glc -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of David de Vries Sent: Wednesday, November 04, 2009 1:01 PM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: 1948 Retro Just curious. What triggered the "bringing it up to code"? There are lots of older pipe schedule systems out there that were installed per code at the time. Typically, those would be considered satisfactory unless there was a change in use, storage arrangement, etc. that necessitates re-evaluation per 25, the IFC or other applicable code. We are chaniging the 3/4" to 1", flushing the entire system, adding badly needed hangers and probably chaning the alarm and control valve. -------------- Original message from Todd Williams <[email protected]>: -------------- > Contact Fire Spec in Bridgewater, MA.
