Another significant benefit to using bottled nitrogen for supervising a
pre-action system is that the gas is devoid of moisture and helps eliminate
condensate from the piping system.

My understanding is that the primary benefit is to reduce corrosion caused by
oxidation. Also that compressed nitrogen tanks don't depend on a power source
to stay pressurized.

Subject: RE: Nitrogen compressors

Has anyone installed a Nitrogen compressor on a pre-action system? Have a
series of Data Centers with existing pre-action systems, where the owner is
requesting Nitrogen to replace air compressors.
They think there is a corrosion advantage? Anyone have any info on that? Can
MIC survive or grow in a Nitrogen rich environment? I know that nitrogen
compressors are not "Pure" nitrogen, so is there enough oxygen to feed the
MIC?

Any help appreciated.
