Does anybody no if there is a clearance (annular) requirement for drops thru hard lids or suspended ceilings? I had a Fire Marshal call me this morning regarding this issue and oversize escutcheons to fill the void, I am not aware of this requirement. I have looked in the IBC Chapter 16, is it in ASCE7?
