Yes, "just systems with large drip heads or 4.2k heads" but not smaller then
4.2k. Section 8.4.7.2.1 Where steel pipe is used in preaction and dry pipe
systems, piping materials shall be limited to internally galvanized
steel, is limited in scope to Large Drop heads.

NFPA does not require it but Factory Mutual does.

Subject: Galvanized pipe

I know this subject has come up before. Is galvanized pipe required in all
dry systems using air? Or just systems with large drip heads or 4.2k heads
and smaller?

Thank you
