That would seem to be a different scenario to me, but I did say we need
more information.  If his "large space" is a warehouse that brings up
more questions yet.  If his large space is 8,000; 80,000; or 800,000
square feet there are more questions and why.

I have seen sprinkler lines and mains interconnected numerous times with
no documentation making it impossible to know what system is shut down
or to shut down.  Several times fitters have almost removed (could tell
before that last turn) or removed sprinklers or pipe from a live
system... A warehouse is a little easier to track piping in compared to
a hospital.

IMHO never a good idea to have two different systems of any type in the
same room.  Maintenance?  Which do you turn off in emergency?
Remodeling?
