Ron, Charles, Wouldn't using the shortest possible limit these possibilities
somewhat?

We haven't really found a use for them. Don't do too many required COT
jobs. Company policy is to COT anyway. We find very few problems hitting
COT or the 1/4 points with straight down hard drops precut in the shop from
welded openings. Probably 95% of our drops are COT or 1/4 whether required
or not. Not sure why our experience is different.

Brad, we know this forum is all above average and probably only represents
maybe 0.1% of the industry. Your method is very rare even if justified.

Norm, true it's always been available but just because the information is
available doesn't mean most AHJ's will know it's even a question was my
point.

Hello Ron,

Or they see how easy it is for them to "Move" it over a tile to put their
"grill, light, thing-a-ma-jig" where the head was cause it is "In My Way"
