I'm sure this varies from state to state but here in NC it's not uncommon for state owned buildings to include the DOI spec in the contract spec's. If anyone's familiar with this particular version of it I have a quick question: Ordinary Hazard group-1 is the minimum design allowed but they do give a couple exceptions. One is that QR & QREC heads listed for light hazard are permitted as long as OH-1 density is still achieved. What would be the benefits of applying this exception?
