Absolutely, if some like NC DOI and some insurance companies are changing what we all know that offices are LH to an OH then yes I think they need tests or experience to show. Remember NC DOI is your tax dollars at work. They more than anyone need to justify before they spend your/our money.
You'll note the def's use subjective terms like light, low, moderate. Until they are quantified, which I don't see happening for a long time if ever, we'll have these conversations because 1 person thinks they are smarter than the masses. Maybe they are, I just say show me. Many of Einstein's theories have been shown and I'm pretty sure that's more complex and fire sprinklers, lol. Arguably many OHI occupancies have fewer combustibles than a typical office. So by their own logic we can start designing beverage mfg and canneries as LH? Granted the gov't is only in the car business right now, but in our march to socialism perhaps they will be in the canning business some day. When they offer suspect reasoning based on opinion that is contradicted by the standard and real experience then I have a bone to pick. Chris Cahill, P.E.
