I remember that fire.

This place is in accordance with all the "bells and whistles" required by 101.
Class A interior finish, floor proximity exit signs, directional marking, fire
alarm, etc.

The plans submitted called it a monster and dinosaur museum and no details of
the monsters or dinosaurs themselves just an area labeled "monster no.1,
monster no.2" and so on.
Based on museum, 13 allows Light Hazard and everything was sized accordingly,
I.e. water storage tank. Now the Deputy in the field thinks the monster side is
Ordinary Hazard based on what he's seeing.

I had the contractor run the calculations as Ordinary and it's still under the
curve. The storage tank would now only provide 51 minutes of Ordinary water.

I think we should be okay, the fire doesn't know if it's Light or Ordinary or
on the monster side or the dinosaur side.

You younger guys may not remember a rather important historical event involving
a haunted house in NJ in the 1970's.  The place was not sprinklered and several
(like 5 or 6) teenagers died in the fire.  The place was loaded with foam
plastics and the fire spread too quickly for them to ffind the exit in the dark
and twisted corridors.  Thus followed all the requirements for special
amusement buildings.

Dave, look at the configuration, materials of construction and decoration,
heights, etc.  I would recommend at least OH1 and QR throughout the assembly
area.  Storage, mechanical, etc. at least OH2.

Also, Dave, look closely at the lighting and exit signage reqs in 101.

I've only done one and I based it on OH2. One of the caveats was that
it could not be used as a for storage other than for items that are
part of the display.
