AF solutions tend to ooze thru joints compared to water or air. Slime factor? Dunno. But it'd still be on the market if they could sell it branded as Will-Leak instead of Will-Flow.

Does glycol eat through regular white dope and tape? Is there another reason why leaking is an issue? Brett Foreman -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Richard Solis Sent: Saturday, March 26, 2011 12:42 AM To: [email protected] Subject: Pipe Dope I don't unless in Glycol systems. I only have 8 years experience compared to AHJs, and NICET IV posts on here. I speak from the field, I wish to obtain NICET in Inspections one day. Glycol systems spring leaks. When you have a wet, or dry system, you only need white dope, and tape. Dope and tape the threads from the 300 side, dope only on the fitting, or shopside side. It doesn't matter if you use tape or dope first, but dope on the outside of threads helps you make up deeper in the threads. By dry, I include Pre Action systems. Note, when I run a main drain, I use dope only. I've never had a drain leak, and I've run drains coming from 220 psi static. _______________________________________________ Sprinklerforum mailing list [email protected] http://fireball.firesprinkler.org/mailman/listinfo/sprinklerforum For Technical Assistance, send an email to: [email protected] To Unsubscribe, send an email to:[email protected] (Put the word unsubscribe in the subject field) _______________________________________________ Sprinklerforum mailing list [email protected] http://fireball.firesprinkler.org/mailman/listinfo/sprinklerforum For Technical Assistance, send an email to: [email protected] To Unsubscribe, send an email to:[email protected] (Put the word unsubscribe in the subject field) _______________________________________________ Sprinklerforum mailing list [email protected] http://fireball.firesprinkler.org/mailman/listinfo/sprinklerforum For Technical Assistance, send an email to: [email protected] To Unsubscribe, send an email to:[email protected] (Put the word unsubscribe in the subject field)
