I have an existing system fed by an existing fire pump requiring an expansion chamber (by the local AHJ) for a small a/f system. I'm a little confused on how to size this when it comes to 'operating pressure'. In the past we sized it based upon the city static pressure. In this case the fire pump is oversized and has a PRV sitting at 150 psi. Would the expansion chamber need to be sized based upon 150 psi 'operating pressure' or am I missing something?
