I didn't know George had passed away until a couple weeks ago. I've been absent from the forum for more than a year, due to email problems I had with my mobile phone.
I appreciated his posts and passion for the industry. I thought of him recently (before I returned to the forum on my iPhone). As he was battling cancer, I emailed him and let him know I was praying for him. During that time, my wife had left and I had to take immediate court action to protect my children. He was aware of this and offered me encouraging words. He was a former deacon in the Methodist Church and told me, life has low points and high points. Get through the low times but rejoice in the high times. (he was encouraging me as he was battling cancer). I thought of his words when I was jogging, a year and a half later as I have full custody of my three young children and a new passion and love for life. It's very appropriate that there is a scholarship fund established in his name. He loved his work. Ayn Rand wrote that "all work is a form of philosophy" and his passion for this industry remains inspiring.
