I know this is a late response, but a comment on still requiring 11/2" standpipe outlets, even for sprinkled stages. It is common for required smoke detection to be disabled due to use of pyrotechnics, and for firewatch to be on site. If ignition occurs, after pulling a pull station, water can be applied.

As always, John has the citation(s) at his fingertips.

410.2 Definitions - Stage and Platforms

PLATFORM. A raised area within a building used for worship, the presentation of music, plays or other entertainment; the head table for special guests; the raised area for lecturers and speakers; boxing

and wrestling rings; theater-in-the-round stages; and similar purposes

wherein there are no overhead hanging curtains, drops, scenery or stage effects other than lighting and sound. A temporary platform is one installed for not more than
30 days.

STAGE. A space within a building utilized for entertainment or presentations, which includes overhead hanging curtains, drops, scenery or stage effects other than lighting and sound.

Hope that helps

You need to use the appropriate building code to determine platform vs
stage
for this area of the country. If stage, square footage and ability to
store
under will also come into play.
