Richard - You may want to check the archives and search for earthquake bracing.
Go to the synopsis done by Bill Brooks. At the end of the day it comes down to
the seismic design category - If it is A or B - no EQ if it is C D E or F then
the party is on. That is basic. Really good to read Bills breakdown to have a
good understanding of it. Not like the old days with the maps anymore. Good
luck.

Subject: Fredrick MD, Seismic Zone?

Can someone with experience in the area tell me if Seismic bracing is required
in Fredrick Maryland? (21701) According to the maps I found online at appears
to be the same seismic category as central PA, but not having worked in the
area before I wanted to be sure there wasn't some local requirement.
