Forum,

I am working on a warehouse design utilizing ESFR K25.2 Pendent heads.

Commodity is Group A expanded, uncartoned plastics, high piled and stored
in-racks. Top of storage [17’-0] AFF. Roof peak is [30-0], ¼” / 12” roof
pitch.

Question? Is the following allowed?

Since the Commodity falls outside the scope of NFPA 13 the specifying Fire
Protection Engineer of record has specified FM guidelines for Design
criteria, 8-9 Table 6 “Ceiling Level Protection Guidelines…..” for the
Commodity using ESFR, K25.2, Ceiling Height of 30’, K25.2, 12 operating
heads @ 30PSI. But then He specifies NFPA 13 for Spacing and Obstruction
Criteria. The building is up including Lights and HVAC, (YUUCK) and NFPA
13 criteria is going to be much easier to work with.

I have always been under the impression we design and install to either one
or the other Standard.

I am crazy, but am I on this one?
