I am working on a project where the facility has a private water tank that they want to abandon and connect to the city supply. However, the public supply falls short of the required pressure. The private tank is supplied by connection to the public. The easiest solution would be to build a pump house near where the old tank is and connect to the existing tank feed and yard system (both 8"). However, the system feeds both fire and domestic supplies. Has anybody done one of these successfully? Any thoughts? The location is a hospital and there are 5 fire lead-ins to the building and an unknown number of domestic connections. (Note: the facility isn't that large and the whole thing could have been done with one lead-in and 2 or 3 zones.)
