All warehouses (at least all that I have seen), have unit heaters and installed as high as possible to maximize storage height. Unless the unit heaters are maximum 2 feet wide, they are generally obstructions to the roof ESFR sprinklers requiring additional sprinklers below the bottom level of the unit heaters. Can't the sprinklers below the bottom level of unit heaters be considered similar to those below overhead doors? If not, then ESFR sprinklers cannot be installed in any warehouse with unit heaters, if the NFPA requirements for sprinklers near heat sources also has to be followed.
I like Mike, Don and Bruce's solutions of using 212 deg.F ESFR sprinklers below the unit heaters, if the greater evil is using 286 deg.F non-ESFR sprinklers at this location.
