Dieter,

I think what those people want is a called Kolommenbalans here in
Holland. Probably the same or very similar in German.
Gives account nr, acount name and six columns:

GL#;GL Name;Opening balance Debet;Opening Balance Credit;Total of
Transactions Debet;Total of Transactions Credit ;Ending Balance Debit;
Ending Balance Credit. Optional is the idea to flag the ending balance
as either P/L (profit and loss) or BS (Balance Sheet).

Would be very nice but no REAL hurry: A little work based on the
existing reports in any spreadsheet is all it takes.
Never killed a bookkeeper yet ;-)

By the way, just did a re-install on Redhat 8.0 using your setup.pl and
was amazed!
This is even bettert than RPM distro and I for one caal SQL-Ledger
foolproof: works for me!
One glitch: I had to edit pg_hba.conf by hand, any chances of fixing
that as well via setup.pl
(find, rename to _old and put it the way it works)?

Grtz,

Paul

Dieter,

Our accountant was also looking for beginning , ending and running
balances for the full g/l report -- complete chart of accounts in one
fell swoop for a particular period, too, so i am glad that it is
coming later.. i hope sooner than later:)

thanks
