While I agree that in the current situation it's a little annoying to
switch back and forth between Rhapsody on Squeezenetwork and a  local
copy of Slimserver with a firmware mismatch, you can hardly argue that
you were left "clueless how to operate the device".  

I'm not sure what kind of support you're expecting from slim.  The fact
is, the SB is a sufficiently complex and powerful device that not
everything's going to be in the manual (indeed, at the time of the
manual's writing this particular functionality was probably not
anticipated) and you might even be confused now and again.  It's the
same way with computers in general.   It's not as though the Slim team
and community is unavailable or hiding.  Have any questions?  Confused?
Post a question here, send an email to slim or call them and you'll at
least get engaged in dialog to fix or explain the situation.  I can't
think of another company that's so helpful.
