Thanks for the detailed explanation, it really helps to hear logical responses.
Since I use Rhapsody 99% of the time and it seems crippled right now, I tried the following test: 1) Added an artist channel to my library that I hadn't listened to before (just in case tracks had been buffered locally) 2) started playing this channel at the same time on a) Rhapsody client on my pc, b) an old Roku soundbridge streaming through the Rhapsody client, and c) my duet. The result is that the duet stopped playing after 2 songs with the 59 minute death while both the rhapsody and soundbridge are still happily playing after an hour. Maybe this is predictable, most of the world uses rhapsody client rather than direct, if it the same issues they would be out of business. Technically I think this could mean a lot of things. For example I can imagine that the authentication process you described is different for the rhapsody client than for rhapsody direct. Or maybe the authentication through rhapsody direct is prioritized low and so the server response is worse. But I would also suggest that a 3rd alternative is that all 3 get the same level of errors but that sb just does not handle it as gracefully. I don't dispute as you say that the Rhapsody side has problems, but just the list of somewhat cryptic error messages you cited would lend me to believe that error handling may not be as robust as it should be (yes, I am a geek that does SQA for a living). Not meaning this as a rant but I bought the duet only because I was tired of having my computer on with my soundbridge. Given all the problems, for now I am switching back to my Roku while I keep monitoring the boards and hoping this gets resolved. I really hope it does but If not then I guess there is always ebay. Cheers. -- texmass ------------------------------------------------------------------------ texmass's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=21670 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=56521 _______________________________________________ squeezenetwork mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/squeezenetwork
