Ox, I honestly can't blame you one bit. I rely on MySB so much for my players I cannot imagine the level of frustration you are experiencing, and the rest of the EU customers. :(
All I can say is that when MySB is functioning as expected (and as is normal from my experience) it is an incredible service with options and features and sound quality unsurpassed in any other similar priced networked players I've ever looked into. But that's easy to say when I'm using the MUCH more reliable US servers. If they can get the EU servers updated and added and functioning even at 90% of the reliability factor of the US servers you would likely be quite pleased with the product. Whether they can accomplish this prior to you jumping ship (and again, I can't blame you) is anyone's guess. I won't go into the other issues like alarms, I'm just commenting on my experience of 3+ years using the SN/MySB service. The whole EU MySB issue is likely a combination of blunders from all aspects (technical, marketing, unforeseen usage, poor planning, etc..) that Logitech is paying DEARLY for. :( I hope you find what you are looking for, but I *really* hope you find it with SqueezeBox players and MySB usage, and can enjoy them as much as I have.
