Some final message and then not to disturb this thread anymore. Sorry but I also don't know where to else post an answer now. Didn't want to hijack this thread. > > I use CFStream and it seems to handle the decompression > No it doesn't. But if you don't send "Accept-Encoding:gzip" in your HTTP-headers you won't get compressed data anyway. andyg;617509 Wrote: > I can also add a workaround to prevent enabling compression for > SqueezePad if you need it, by looking at the User-Agent. No not needed. I'll submit the update today or tomorrow and anyone using betas will need to accept that a workaround is needed. That is the gotcha with Betas - they can break any day and that's why I will never recommend them to anyone. Myself will also rather suggest using 7.5.2 if people don't like 7.5.3. One more suggestion to handle your "we need the community to test" problem: If a week before a release you'd announce a release-candidate build or something similar I might get back into installing such a ersion. For me (regardless of whether I have the 'user' or 'developer' hat on) this would be a great advantage: - I don't have to cope with nightly builds and their possible negative impact of your nightly commits that only have gone through your own personal QA. - I can focus on possible problems in a dedicated timeframe, not every day. - I would have more trust in such a version as a release candidate typically means that the developer QA and maybe even official QA has been done. Also typically this comes with a feature freeze - and any new change needs to be peer reviewed. - Along with the people that will still run nightlies I guess even more people (like me) would be willing to install a release candidate than a nightly. So you get even better QA from the community before the version goes out to any user out there in the Squeezbox universe. -- bluegaspode Big Screen for great Boxes available now at your AppStore: *'Squeezebox + iPad = SqueezePad ' (www.squeezepad.com)* - -now featuring streaming to iPad!- Want to see a Weather Forecast on your Radio/Touch/Controller ? => why not try my 'Weather Forecast Applet' (http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=73827) Want to use the Headphones with your Controller ? => why not try my 'Headphone Switcher Applet' (http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=67139) Setup: 1x SB-Controller+Receiver (Duet), 1xSB-Boom. 2xSB-Radio Server (7.5.x) running on SheevaPlug (Ubuntu) with attached Western Digital MyBook Essential. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ bluegaspode's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=31651 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=86269 _______________________________________________ squeezenetwork mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezenetwork
