Ahhh I see...basically you can't have a file called "folder" and a directory called "folder" in the same directory. It's a limitation of *nix.
What I still don't understand is why INBOX works. >From my sqmail interface I see the list like this: INBOX Sent Drafts Trash Myfolder1 Myfolder2 I.e. it appears that Sent, Drafts and Trash are subfolders of INBOX! I guess all we really want to have is a folder to APPEAR to be a subfolder. Perhaps squirrelmail developers can somehow insert a flag in a mailbox file that indicates to the squirrelmail inteface which is the "Virtual Parent" as it were =) I think it would be a very popular modification for poor UW users like myself. Anyway, I'd like to know how the INBOX is different. Unfortunately UW-IMAP doesn't allow for that to happen. What I mean is UW has two states... it's a folder, or a file. UW doesn't allow for mail to be stored in a folder, but a folder can contain files, which in turn can contain mails. For example: mail/ INBOX Trash SquirrelMail/ Users mail/ and SquirrelMail/ can contain folders, but not mail. Inbox, Trash, and Users can all contain mail, but not folders. Some other IMAP servers, such as courier allow for both to occur, as in a folder can contain mail and messages, but that is because it uses Maildir format, and not mbox. -- Jonathan Angliss ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) ------------------------------------------------------- This sf.net email is sponsored by:ThinkGeek Welcome to geek heaven. http://thinkgeek.com/sf -- squirrelmail-users mailing list List Address: [EMAIL PROTECTED] List Archives: http://sourceforge.net/mailarchive/forum.php?forum_id=2995 List Info: https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/squirrelmail-users
