I like this behavior as I almost always want my reply to be from the
identitiy it was addressed to. I too agree this is a feature and did not
mean for my first comment on this thread to be interpreted as thinking it
was a bug. I mentioned it only because when I was doing my troubleshooting
way back when that it confused me a bit.

That said, I don't believe Gary is concerned about this behavior, the odd
issue is when the email is to your default identity but when you reply
another identity is chosen. This is where the bug lies. And I do not
believe it is an issue with squirrelmail but like I mentioned before I
think this is a problem with the custom_from plugin getting in the way.
For me once I removed custom_from then when I would reply the default
identity was always picked unless the email was to another matching
identity.
